Waste Management Practices
The department at its level practices waste management through segregation of wastes, disposal. Facilities for the management and separation of Recyclable and Non-Recyclable waste through use of different colored bins for waste disposal.
Awareness Campaigns
The department organizes various campaigns such as Swachhata Pakwada and other cleaniless campaigns to raise awareness health, hygiene and claean surroundings.
Swachhthaa Pakhwada Celebrated on 13th Sept. 2018
In order to celebrate Swacchta Pakhwada 2018, the Department of Philosophy, with the support and encouragement of the Dean, Faculty of Arts, organised two events on 13th September. The program included a cleanliness drive and a discussion on issues related to waste management and taking effective measures towards the upkeep of a clean environment. This program was encouraged by the Head of the Department. Many faculty members and students from various departments of the Arts Faculty such as the Departments of Punjabi, Hindi, Sanskrit and Buddhist Studies came along and joined in the endeavour.
1. In the first session, we gathered together to collect plastic and paper from various parts of the campus. There was enthusiastic participation. We distributed garbage bags among the students and faculty members who were divided into small groups. At the end of the collection, all the used plastic bags were gathered to be sent for recycling.
2. In the second session, we had a short discussion in the Department at 1:30 p.m. regarding cleanliness in public spaces. There was lively participation and many diverse issues came up related to plastic, recycling, clean technology, how to minimise the use of papers and so on.
