Green Initiatives
The department follows environment friendly practices such as green landscaping, garden, waste management, waste conservation and digitization. The University and the Dean of the Arts Faculty are responsible for implementing matters related to transport, roads and green landscaping. The Department at its level discourages the use of paper in the office. Minutes of meetings etc are now sent by mail alone. Students are also contacted electronically through the use of Google groups and notices are kept to a minimum. The use of disposable glasses etc. is not encouraged and the Department faculty has contributed personally to buy some crockery. Many faculty members are conscientious about using public transport.
